After a spending the entire movie trying to impress Eleanor (Michelle Yeoh), Rachel (Constance Wu) has a conversation with her over a game of Mahjong - letting Eleanor know, both through her words and through the game - that she could have 'won' Nick, but allowed Eleanor the victory to protect Nick's happiness.
