A Sign From Above vs. Bugs!

Your Champion
A Sign From Above
(Rat Race)

VS

Your Challenger
Bugs!
(Starship Troopers)

The Case for A Sign From Above (2):
Two threads intersect during this sequence:  the theft of a 'lightning car' by Vera and Merrill (Lanei Chapman and Whoopi Goldberg) and the attempted extortion of Nick and Tracy (Breckin Meyer and Amy Smart) by an unscrupulous car mechanic.  While sarcastically asking for a sign from above to mock the two, Vera and Merrill flash buy and give him the sign he didn't expect to get.

The Case for Bugs!:
Having just convinced his commanding officer to spare General Owens (Marshall Bell), Rico (Casper Van Dien) and the other troops must quickly organize as a swarm of Arachnids (referred to as Bugs) attack their base - and sees that the sparing of Owens has only been a temporary delay in his death.

(Frances Ha)

The Case for A Sign From Above (1):

The Case for What I Want:
Caught in an awkward moment - and slightly drunk - Frances (Greta Gerwig) describes what she wants in life, and in a relationship, to the other guests at dinner.  Though a bit inarticulate, she does hit onto something profound, while at the same time embarrassing herself with her emotional honesty - leading to a quick exit.

Your Champion
Almost There
(The Princess and the Frog)

VS

Your Challenger
A Sign From Above
(Rat Race)

The Case for Almost There (1):
In this early number, Tiana (Anika Noni Rose) sings about how close she is to achieving her dream as the animation switches to her fantasy: a popular restaurant that is filled with customers.  While admitting that she still has lots of work to do, she can see her goal is within reach - and as the animation transitions back to 'reality,' she and her mother begin the process of straightening up the currently-unoccupied building.
