The Case for Shared Dreaming (1):

Having just recruited Ariadne (Ellen Page) to assist in 'incepting' a memory, Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio), explains the structure of dreaming, and how shared dreaming works.  Once Ariadne realizes they are in a dream, things change quickly.

The Case for What Might Have Been:

In this epilogue, Mia (Emma Stone) and her husband stop at a jazz club, where she sees her former boyfriend Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) playing.  Seeing her, Sebastian begins playing - and gives the audience an alternate story, one where different choices for both of them led to a different future where they are still together.
