We're back, and we're doing things slightly differently. Instead of a king-of-the-hill type battle, we are going to a tournament bracket - both because that is easier to manage, and because it won't require daily updates.
We're kicking things off with a 90s Movies tournament - and I cast a wide net for this, so some of the matches will be odd to say the least. Seeding was done randomly, so don't complain about tough first round matches (there are quite a few that I am unhappy about also!) See the bracket right here!
Voting will start with 4 matches, and will last two days. Have fun!
Well, I didn't think it would come to this quite so soon, but here we are.
After my issues with poll-maker last week - not to mention fighting a bug that knocked me out - I was ready to get back into the swing of things. However, my computer felt otherwise, and now my templates used to help me get the matchups posted quicker are gone. Given the difficulties in restarting the matchups after the extended break, I'm taking this as a sign to respectfully put an end to the battles, right off the high of Black Sheep getting retired.
I want to thank everyone who voted, submitted scenes, and participated over the 2+ (!) years that these have been going on. I won't say that this will never come back, but it definitely will stop for the foreseeable future.
Detective Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) has been ordered to track down and kill Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer), a rogue artificial 'replicant.' In a rooftop chase in heavy rain, Deckard misses a jump and hangs by his fingers, about to fall to his death. Batty turns back and lectures Deckard briefly about how the tables have turned, but pulls him up to safety at the last instant. Then, recognizing that his limited lifespan is about to terminate, Batty further addresses his shocked nemesis, reflecting on his own experiences and mortality.
